Ahh, the infamous Live Nudes sign. As part of Christmas 2003, my roommate Cody and I decided to do a bit of cheerful decorating. We pondered over what we could do, and decided to be a little different. What came about is this lovely sign, made entirely from Red Christmas lights, a big piece of cardboard, and a coat-hanger (Instructions for building your own sign will be below). The light in the stairwell leading to our apartment kept going out, and so we took it upon ourselves to remedy the situation. The nice red glow this sign gave off was very welcome in our dark little corner at Chapel Ridge apartments. Even our Female neighbors loved it.

Instructions for building your own sign

1. Think big. You need a large sheet of cardboard for a good sign (refrigerator boxes work wonderfully).

2. Draw out the words. They need to flow into one another as it will be hard to stretch the lights very far.

3. Use a power drill to poke the holes. Find a bit about the size of the lights (smaller if anything), and use it to poke the holes, this will save tremendous time.

4. Make sure that you use a good power cord. A cheapy will likely torch your masterpiece.
